Hear Your Intuition Again: What to Do When You Feel Disconnected

What to Do When You Can’t Hear Your Intuition

…especially when you’re tired, stuck, or unsure what your next move is.

Real talk: You’re not in love with your job. You show up, clock in, try to care—but deep down, you’re tired. Flat. Unfulfilled. And the worst part? You can’t hear your intuition anymore. It’s like that inner voice went silent… right when you needed it most.

Or maybe you’re dating someone who’s perfectly nice. They treat you well. But there’s a soft, persistent whisper inside that keeps saying, “They’re not it. You know they’re not it.”

Been there.

And I’ve also heard that other voice. The louder one.

“But that paycheck is steady…”
“There aren’t a lot of jobs around here.”
“Who else is going to love you like this?”
“You’re too sensitive anyway—maybe you’re asking for too much.”

That inner tug-of-war between your knowing and your fear? That is the moment you can’t hear your intuition. That’s the moment you feel like you’ve lost your way. And honestly, most of us don’t realize this isn’t just mental—it’s deeply physical too.

Why You Can’t Hear Your Intuition Right Now

We don’t talk about this enough:
You can’t hear your intuition when your nervous system is dysregulated.
That buzzing, tense, shut-down feeling in your chest or gut? It’s not just anxiety. It’s a cue.

When your body is in survival mode—fight, flight, freeze, or fawn—your brain is focused on survival, not spiritual clarity. The calm, grounded signals of intuition get drowned out by the alarms in your body.

This is why you can’t “think” your way into clarity.
You have to feel your way there.

If you’ve been asking “How do I know if my intuition is right?”
Start here:
Are you regulated enough to hear it?

If not, your first step isn’t deciding between job offers or romantic partners.
It’s coming back to your body.

Healing the Nervous System So You Can Hear Your Intuition Again

You don’t need a full-blown wellness retreat.
But you do need intentional daily care to shift out of stress and back into presence.

Here’s what helps calm the nervous system and activate the parasympathetic state (where intuition lives):

  • Grounding exercises: walk barefoot on earth, get your hands in soil, cook with root vegetables. Try these grounding practices →
  • Breath work: slow inhales through the nose, longer exhales through the mouth.
  • Supplements for the nervous system: Magnesium glycinate, B-complex vitamins, or lemon balm (always check with your provider).
  • Use a nervous system chart to identify your default state (fight, flight, etc.) so you can notice when you’re spiraling.

Even five minutes a day begins to shift things. This is the path to healing the nervous system and creating space to hear what your inner voice has been trying to say. These practices create space in your body so you can finally hear your intuition again.

The Real Reason You’re Stuck Isn’t What You Think

You’re not lazy.
You’re not ungrateful.
You’re not broken.

You’re just disconnected—from your truth, your body, and likely… your soul purpose.

Maybe you’ve been quietly asking:
“What is my soul purpose?”
“What does it mean to find my soul?”
“How do I start over when I feel like I’ve lost everything?”

Especially if you’re starting over at 60 with absolutely nothing, or 35 with a broken heart, or 28 in a career you never really chose…

I want you to know this:
Your intuition still knows.
You just need the clarity and safety to hear your intuition again.
Your purpose hasn’t left you.
You’re just learning how to listen again.

How to Learn to Trust Yourself Again

Trusting your intuition doesn’t mean you always get a crystal-clear yes or no.
It means you begin to notice the subtle signs:

  • That quiet pull toward something.
  • The way your body softens when something feels right.
  • The resistance or clenching when it doesn’t.

These are signs of intuition.
Even if they’re soft at first.
Even if your logical mind overrides them.

Understanding your intuition begins with curiosity, not certainty.
You can even test your intuition gently:

  • Try journaling: “What would I do if I truly trusted myself right now?”
  • Notice your body’s first instinct before your brain takes over.
  • Ask Spirit: “Help me recognize what my intuition tells me.”
  • Read quotes on trusting your intuition or use positive affirmations for gratitude to rewire old fear loops.

Here’s one to try:
“I trust that I am guided. Even when it’s quiet. Even when I doubt.”

When Doubt Creeps In: What Not to Do

Don’t ignore your intuition just because it’s inconvenient.
That voice that says “this job is slowly killing your joy” or “you feel anxious every time you see him” isn’t trying to ruin your life.

It’s trying to reroute you back to your dream life.

If you’ve been:

  • Ignoring your intuition in relationships
  • Staying because you’re afraid of being vulnerable
  • Doubting your dreams or asking “what if this is all there is?”

Then this is your loving wake-up call.

Believe in your dreams.
Believe in the power of your dreams.
They’re not random.
They’re part of your soul blueprint.

When I was in that same place—disconnected, looping in fear, doubting every step—I found a tool that genuinely changed my life: the To Be Magnetic program. One of the most powerful pieces of that work is something they call your Authentic Code: four core values or pillars that define what’s truly aligned for you, not what society says you should want.

That concept gave me language for the life I already felt in my bones.
It helped me finally see the difference between who I thought I had to be… and who I actually was.
And from there? Everything started shifting. Those pillars shaped the entire direction of my life.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or unsure of what’s next, I highly recommend starting there.

This Isn’t Just About Intuition. It’s About Conviction.

To build the life you actually want, you need more than gut feelings.
You need the power of conviction.
That inner strength that says:

“Even if no one else understands this decision… I do.”

And that’s enough.

Because following your intuition isn’t about being certain.
It’s about being aligned.
It’s about remembering what you came here for.

So next time you ask: “What is my intuition?”
Or “How do I know if this voice is real?”
Start with this truth:

You don’t have to chase clarity.
You just have to create the safety to receive it.
